NEISD Special Parent Message
I want to take a moment and share an important update about how we’re working to protect your child’s information and the systems we use to support their education.
As a school district, we rely on several online tools and systems every day—including the Skyward system, which is used to check grades, attendance, and other important student information.
In light of increasing cybersecurity threats, especially phishing attempts targeting schools—we are implementing multi-factor authentication, or MFA, for all systems that are publicly accessible, starting with Skyward. MFA helps make sure a person is who they say they are.
What does this mean for you?
If you're accessing Skyward from home or outside the district’s network, you may be prompted to complete a second step when logging in. This could be a quick code sent to your phone or email. If you do your banking online, you are already using MFA. It's a small step that makes a big difference in protecting your family’s information.
We take our responsibility to protect your child’s data seriously. Your support in helping us strengthen our systems is greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions or need help with your account, our Technology team is ready to assist. You can contact them through neisd.net/technology-services.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep your child’s information safe.
And I’ll see you around our District.
Dr. Sean Maika
