Parent Message: April 14, 2025
I am always amazed at how so many of our students make the time to support other students. One of the big ways our students show their support to others is through our Student 2 Student programs like the one here at Madison High School.
I am proud to say, every North East ISD school has a Student 2 Student program. Members of S2S are on the front lines when new students arrive on campus. They give them tours, eat with them at lunch and provide a friendly face in a new environment.
Madison’s S2S program has nearly 40 members. They meet with their sponsor Sarah Chandler each week to make sure they are meeting the needs of our military-connected students.
Junior Athaliah Tenorio is one of those students. Her father served our country as a solider in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iran. As a military child, she understands how important a program like S2S is in helping students feel connected. She enjoys welcoming new students and giving them tours of Madison.
April is the Month of the Military Child. And I am so proud of the way our District embraces our military families.
S2S is just the beginning. We have 65 campuses with Purple Star Designations, which are awarded to schools that excel in meeting the needs of military students and their families by the Texas Education Agency.

Siempre me sorprende cómo tantos de nuestros estudiantes se toman el tiempo para apoyar a otros estudiantes. Una de las principales formas en que nuestros estudiantes muestran su apoyo a los demás es a través de nuestros programas Student 2 Student como el de Madison High School.
Me enorgullece decir que cada escuela de North East ISD tiene un programa de Estudiantes 2 Estudiantes. Los miembros de S2S están en primera línea cuando llegan nuevos estudiantes al campus. Les ofrecen tours, comen con ellos en el almuerzo y proporcionan una cara amistosa en un nuevo entorno.
