Parent/Employee Message: Sept. 9, 2022
In a few hours, our football teams, band members, cheer squads, families and more will pack stadiums to watch our students perform under the Friday night lights.
I’m so excited to see one of my favorite new NEISD traditions continue this year. Future Football Games is an initiative started by RootEd – a grassroots organization made up of parents supporting their neighborhood schools.
Tonight, the Churchill cluster schools will come together to celebrate their community and preview what our elementary and middle school students have to look forward to in high school.
These are images from the recent MacArthur cluster Future Football Game. Some of our youngest students sang the national anthem and ran on the field with the players while middle school students play alongside the high school band. There’s also a RootEd Spirit Award on the line.
More Future Football Games are being planned for later this season, with Roosevelt’s happening on Friday, September 16. I hope you’ll take this opportunity to be a part of a true community event.
In one week, nearly 150 golfers will tee off for a good cause that will impact our teachers and students. The 17th annual Jerry Comalander’s Fore! The Kids Golf Tournament will take place Friday, September 16, at the Canyon Springs Golf Club. All the money raised will go directly back to our teachers and students through North East Educational Foundation’s innovative grants.

En pocas horas, nuestros equipos de fútbol, miembros de la banda, escuadrones de porristas, familias y más, abarrotarán estadios para ver a nuestros estudiantes presentarse bajo las luces de la noche del viernes.
Estoy muy emocionada de ver que una de mis nuevas tradiciones favoritas de NEISD continúe este año. Future Football Game es una iniciativa iniciada por RootEd, una organización compuesta por padres que apoyan a las escuelas de su vecindario.
