Payroll year-end reminders

POSTED DECEMBER 2022

As we approach the end of calendar year 2022, the Payroll department would like to remind you of the following items.

ADDRESS UPDATES:

The District often mails important information to your home.  If your address has changed, please update your information in Employee Space no later than December 16, 2022, to avoid any delays.

FORM W-4, EMPLOYEE’S WITHHOLDING CERTIFICATE:

You may submit a Form W-4 at any time of the year in accordance with the payroll deadlines for each pay day.  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has created a YouTube Video titled “Do I Need to Fill Out a New W-4?”, which is available in English and Spanish at the following links.

W-4 Video: English  /  W-4 Video: Spanish

The current Form W-4 is available at: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf.

To ensure that you have the right amount of tax withheld from your paycheck, the IRS encourages everyone to use their Tax Withholding Estimator to perform a “paycheck checkup.”  The estimator is located on the IRS website at: www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-withholding-estimator.

FORM W-2, WAGE AND TAX STATEMENT:

The District is required to furnish all employees with the 2022 Form W-2 no later than Jan. 31, 2023.  Due to the complexity of the calculations and verification process, the Payroll department cannot provide an exact date of when the W-2s will be distributed to employees.  We are working diligently to complete the W-2s as soon as possible in January.

OFFICE CLOSURE:

In observance of the upcoming holidays, the Payroll department will be closed December . 19, 2022, through December 30, 2022.

PAY DATES:

Please refer to the Payroll Holiday Deadline memo that was emailed to all employees and is posted on the Payroll website.  It contains information on pay dates and deadlines to update your address and direct deposit information to ensure you will be paid timely in December.
