I graduated with my BA from Texas Tech University (2000) and my MA from Wheaton College, IL (2005) and worked the better part of the first 14 years of my career as a USA Swimming Club coach and am an ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) Level 3 certified coach; a distinction earned by the top 15% of coaches in the country. My club coaching started in the suburbs of Chicago while in grad school, and continued here in San Antonio with Alamo Area Aquatics Association, and then finished in the Houston area with First Colony Swim Team; both Top 25 teams in the country.
In 2012, I began to shift my career to education, and am now in my 7th year as a teacher. I have taught in the Special Education department as well as Speech, and Social Studies (World History/World Geography). I continue to coach swimming and am the Head Coach of the Boys/Girls Swim & Dive team at MAC and work in the summers giving swim lessons to members in the community. Swimmers I have had the privilege of coaching swimmers who range from beginners to Olympic Trials Qualifiers, and many have gone on to swim at universities all over the country.
