“I am grateful to have this opportunity.”

Tejeda Middle School theatre students recently got the chance to learn from some experts to help them with their newest play. The students have been working on a one-act play about the holocaust, a subject they’ve been learning about their other classes. Before performing their play to a bigger audience, the students got the chance to perform it for docents from the Holocaust Memorial of San Antonio. One of the docents told the story of her relative surviving Auschwitz.

“I just want to make sure to tell this story correctly,” said eighth-grader Abbi Miller, who is playing the lead in their play. “I am grateful for this opportunity to get feedback from the docents.”

Eighth-grader Joshua Ayemobola also appreciated the input from the docents saying, “I want to make sure I can make my character as realistic as possible. It feels really good to be able to honor them in this way.”
