Research and Lesson
Kinder through 5th grades activities I incorporated many See Saw Activities on the iPad. They were fun and engaging activiites that supported the TEKS and lessons in the classroom.
- Second grade came to the library to research animals. I taught them how to access digital resources such as, Pebble Go and National Geographic.
- Third, 4th and 5th graders did many activities on the iPads-SeeSaw Activities, Poetry, letter writing, Coding apps, Chatterpix and Kahoots.
- The students used See Saw for many library lessons
- 3rd, 4th, and fifth grade students learned about genres at the Cafe de Genre. They made Chatter Pix summaries of their favorite genres and stories.
- Poetry Picnic for all the grade levels.
- Various apps on the iPads, such as, See Saw, Chatterpix, Kahoot, Quiver, Book Creator, Green Screen, Book Snaps, etc.
Collaboration
- I collaborated with the Kinder-Fifth Grade teachers throughout the year. The lessons coincided with the TEKS and with the scope and sequence that they were doing in the library. For example, 3rd grade Rapid Changes to the Earth's Surface, 2nd grade Animal Research, Genre and poetry centers, etc.
- I also incorporated a lot of technology into the lessons that we did in the library. For example, SeeSaw, Chatterpix, Quiver, Nursery Rhymes, Kahoots, and STEM, plus many other engaging activities in the library.
- Exploratory Learning was also incorporated in the library. Teachers rotated once a month on Fridays for Exploratory Learning. The students were engaged and learned many academic and social skills such as coding, creating, building circuit boards, collaborating, sharing and getting along with each other.
