NESA Creative Writers Win Awards in Voices de la Luna "Shelter in Poetry" Contest

Two NESA Creative Writing students have won awards in the Voices de la Luna Shelter in Poetry Contest. Voices de la Luna is a quarterly literature and arts magazine. Founded in 2008 by San Antonio writers Mo Saidi and Jim Brandenburg, the magazine is the premier literary magazine in South Texas.

Freshman Isabel Brown won 1st place AND 3rd place for two of her poems. In the Upper Age Category Senior Kailey Monsivais won 1st place for one of her poems. The students' poems will be published in the magazine, and both students won a cash award.
