Community Update for April 13

Dear ISA Families,

One of the pillars of ISA’s graduate profile asks students to Take Action to realize positive changes in their community. On Friday last week, we continued our whole community commitment to action as ISA students and staff traveled to sites on campus, near campus, and across San Antonio to participate in community service. ISA students participated in facilities clean-ups, gardening, animal care, bike rodeos, invasive species removal and served communities from San Antonio to Boerne with the goal of making our world a better place. Marking our eleventh year, Friday’s annual Globie Youth Service Day was a great day to celebrate community and take action! Thank you to ISA Service Learning Coordinator, Betsy Gorski, and the ISA Leadership Team for organizing the logistics for ISA’s day of service, and all of our teachers and staff for chaperoning their service teams and serving alongside our students! Experiences like these have established and maintained authentic and meaningful bonds with a community that is special and unique!

Spring testing season continues this week at ISA. On Tuesday, April 15, ISA 9th graders will sit for the STAAR Biology EOC. One day later, on Wednesday, April 16th, ISA 11th graders will sit for the STAAR U.S. History EOC. In preparation for STAAR we encourage families to help students get a good night’s rest, eat breakfast, and arrive at school on time. Good luck 9th graders!
