Community Update for January 28

Dear ISA Families,

This Tuesday, January 30th, is an early release day.  Students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.

One week from tomorrow, the ISA senior class departs for Washington, D.C.! Our campus nurse, Mrs. Crystal Rios, is still able to accept any medications that students may need during the D.C. travel experience:

  • All medications, along with the proper forms, should be turned in to the campus clinic on or before January 30, 2024.

  • Special requests requiring doctor’s orders--including self-carry orders--should be on file with the nurse!

  • NEISD employee chaperones will administer medications, and families should submit all medication in the original package containing only the amount necessary for the duration of the travel experience.

  • Students may NOT carry ANY medication on their person unless they have a current doctor's order to self-carry from the school nurse for this school year.

  • If you are not sure about the above details or have any questions, please, contact Nurse Schweers at (210) 356-0821 or by email at cschwe@neisd.net

Our amazing ISA’s counselors have begun visiting with ISA 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to select their courses for the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Carraway and Ms. Stridde report lots of excitement and questions about the course selection process. We would like to share that students have a comfortable amount of time to choose their courses. We anticipate families will have questions too! If you have questions about helping your student choose the courses best for them, please contact Romelle Carraway at rcarra2@neisd.net or (210) 356-0940 or Natalie Stridde at nstrid@neisd.net or (210) 356-0925!

Looking ahead, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the window opens to submit AP Exam payment for second semester AP courses (AP Comp. Govt. and AP Psychology). The window closes on March 5th and credit card payment can be submitted through Skyward:  Student Access--not Family Access. HERE are instructions about how to submit payment. Cash payments can be submitted to Ms. Schramm in the LEE Counseling Office.

LEE Dance will be hosting a virtual tryout meeting on February 21, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. Drill and Dance tryouts will be on March 19-22. Students may click HERE for a flier with more information and a QR for the virtual  meeting. Please contact Christina Alanis at calani@neisd.net with any questions.

Finally, we are in the last week of accepting applications for the ISA Class of 2028. The ISA Lottery Application closes Monday, February 5, 2024, for interested 8th graders and can be found HERE or by visiting the ISA website! A reminder that siblings of currently enrolled ISA students who are interested in attending ISA next year must complete an application.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Steve Magadance and the ISA Faculty
