Transition Services at NETS

Transition services at NETS assist the students in bridging the gap between high school and adult life.

  • Training and instruction occur in the community; in real environments; in the real world.
  • Programming for students depends on individual needs and IEP goals.
  • Instruction is individualized and intensive.
  • Training and instruction are inclusive and age-appropriate.
  • Students' schedules vary daily and/or weekly.
  • Training and instruction occur in community-based locations.
  • Plans are developed by a specialized transition team: student, family, friends, case manager, adult agencies, and employers.

Parents and family members are a vital part of the transition teams at NETS. NEISD is committed to preparing all students for adult life in an inclusive and age-appropriate setting.
