PVSA

Dear Johnson Parents and Students,

Johnson High School is a proud participant of the President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA). Sponsored by the Johnson PTSA, this award is open to all Johnson High students who have volunteered service hours in their community, or on campus.

To qualify for this prestigious award, students must perform a minimum number of volunteer service hours between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The next two charts reflect both PVSA and SVSA (district) hours criteria. 

PVSA Hours by Award

Bronze

Silver

Gold

 Teens:   12-15 yrs.

50-74 hrs.

75-99 hrs.

100 + hrs.

Young Adults:  16 +

100-174 hrs.

175-249 hrs.

250 + hrs.

 

NEISD SVSA Hours by Award

All High School Students, 9-12th Grade

50-74 hrs.

75-149 hrs.

150 + hrs.

 

  • Eligible service hours are for volunteer activities completed from April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Candidates must submit their hours through the NEISD Skyward Portal.   Students will log into Skyward Family Access, then login to the student portal.  Parents are additionally able to log into the system to help their student record hours through the parent portal, if needed.  The deadline to submit hours for the 2023 -2024 PVSA award, as well as the SVSA award is Friday, March 31, 2024 by 4:00 PM. Note: All PVSA hours must be approved by this date. 
  • An Informational Questions & Answers Meeting will be held November 16, 2023 @ 8a.m. in Room A259.
  • The 2024 PVSA Ceremony will be held in the Johnson Auditorium May 20, 2024,  from 6 –7:30 p.m.  Family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony. The theme for the event is The Beauty of Volunteering.

 

Along with the ultimate honor of presidential recognition, recipients will receive a personalized certificate, an official pin, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States. If you want to ensure that your application stands out at the college of your choice, begin logging your hours now.
