Three Roosevelt High School students were the talk of the Texas Biomedical Global Health Symposium. Eunice Rodriguez, Ava Schreier and Seyma Kilic spoke on the Youth Panel regarding the topic, ‘How will COVID-19 shape the next generation?’
Eunice is a senior and Ava is a sophomore in the Design and Technologies Academy (DATA) at Roosevelt. Seyma is currently part of the Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA).
Eunice, Ava and Seyma were three of just five students invited to share their perspective on the panel. Those in attendance included San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, President of the CDC Foundation Dr. Judith Monroe, President and CEO of Texas Biomedical Research Institute Dr. Larry Schlesinger, and many more.
“Everyone was incredibly impressed with the caliber of students, and their passion for science, philanthropy, public health, the dissemination of accurate information, and youth advocacy,” said Tina Finley, AP Biology Teacher. “They made a tremendous impact and made me incredibly proud!”
The 2022 Texas Biomedical Global Health Symposium was held at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens April 28-29.
