Providing students more than just an academic education

group with gifts

“We are beyond grateful for all these amazing individuals who care for and support this beautiful group of children.”

Dozens of North East ISD teachers and staff worked together to provide 100 pairs of shoes for newcomer students at Camelot and Colonial Hills Elementary schools. Helping make sure they are ready for the new year.

Students in our Newcomer program come from all over the world, many from Afghanistan and the Congo.

“This is so important to these children as they have traveled many miles to arrive in NEISD and have come with minimal items, so for the children to have a brand-new pair of shoes allows them an opportunity to discover more of what NEISD can offer on their new journey of learning,” said NEISD Assistant Director of Bilingual and ESL-Newcomers Kerry Haupert.
