Matilda Jr. inspires new musical memories

It takes a village to put on a successful school musical. Just ask the Bradley Middle School theatre, choir and dance departments.

Bradley recently wrapped its run of the musical Matilda Jr. Eighth grader Aniyah Nichols played Matilda.

She says performing in the show taught her the lesson of, “Finding your own way of living your life, not living by what anyone else says.” Like Matilda says in the show, ‘Nobody but me is going to change my story’ and I think that’s very true and fitting to us because we are all are following our passion and doing what we love!”

Eighth grader Isabella Garate played Miss Trunchbull. While she loved many parts of the experience, her favorite part was connecting with her peers and nurturing new friendships.

“It’s a beautiful thing to see people from different organizations and grades all coming together to make something bigger than life,” said Isabella. “It’s been a great experience being able to be a part of this musical and it’s taught me and everyone in it multiple valuable lessons.”

Bradley students will take their final bow Friday morning during the student showcase performance in the cafeteria.
