Invocation & Pledge of Allegiance
Two outstanding students from the Academy of Creative Education (ACE) gave the invocation and pledge of allegiance at the regular meeting of the North East ISD Board of Trustees on Monday, June 13.
Imaria Stephens kicked off the meeting with a moving invocation. Ashton Silvas then led all of those in attendance in the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags. Imaria was joined by her family, including parents Sonya and Robert Stephens. Ashton was joined by his mother, Laura Silvas.
Imaria’s future plans include graduating in December and pursuing a career in nursing. After graduation, Ashton plans to pursue a psychology degree and serve as an Army officer.
Reagan Golf recognized as State Champions
The Reagan High School Girls Golf team was recognized for bringing home the 6A UIL state championship! This is the first state championship in golf program history for the Rattlers.
Marissa Loya was also a 6A individual medalist, placing 3rd overall at the state championships. Congratulations to Head Coach Russell Aki, Assistant Coach Stephen Martinez and the entire Rattlers golf team!
Taylen Wise earns silver in state triple jump
Reagan High School’s Taylen Wise was recognized for her incredible performance at the state track meet. Wise finished second overall in Triple Jump, earning a silver medal. Congratulations to Taylen, Head Coach Jennifer McHugh and Assistant Coaches Rachel Freeman and Stephen Saenz!
Reagan Baseball finishes 2nd overall in state tournament
The Reagan High School baseball team finished their season as the second-best team in the state after a hard-fought battle in the state championship game. The team was recognized last night as the 2022 6A UIL State Baseball Runner-Up.

Roosevelt Riderettes bring home national title
Congratulations to the Roosevelt High School Riderettes! This impressive group of JROTC cadets are the 2022 Army JROTC National Champion Unarmed Drill Team. The Riderettes were recognized at the board meeting along with their instructors, Master Sergeant Marchantia Johnson, Major Jamelle Garner and Command Sergeant Major Ansley Harris.

Roosevelt cadet places in essay contest
Roosevelt High School JROTC cadet Kirsten Scott was recognized as the winner of the 5th ROTC Brigade essay contest winner. Kirsten will present her essay and recognize Roosevelt and NEISD at a national conference in Washington, D.C. in a few weeks. Kirsten is part of the Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA) at Roosevelt. Congratulations, Kirsten!
NEISD middle school students excel in ‘Do the Write Thing’ Challenge
Each year, North East ISD middle school students participate in the "Do the Write Thing" essay contest. Two students, one from Garner Middle School and one from Lopez Middle School, will soon travel to Washington, D.C. as Bexar County ‘Do the Write Thing’ National Ambassadors.
The ‘Do the Write Thing’ Challenge gives students the opportunity to talk about how violence has impacted them and discuss resolutions. Their essays will be archived into the Library of Congress.

NEISD donates portable classrooms to Uvalde CISD
Last night, the North East ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution to donate four portable classrooms to Uvalde CISD.
The recent tragedy in Uvalde brought about a need for support and resources for their students, staff and community. Uvalde CISD is now facing a shortage of classroom space following the recent decision not to reopen Robb Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. Robb Elementary students will instead be relocated to other elementary schools in the district.
Last week, NEISD counselors began volunteering to provide free counseling to the students, families and Uvalde CISD staff in need of help, resources and support. Many of our elementary and secondary counselors will continue to volunteer their time and services in Uvalde this summer.
