Hi Spurs!

I am a native San Antonian and a proud North East graduate of MacArthur High School. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word as an English major and went onto the University of Texas at San Antonio to earn my certification for Special Education and Elementary Education. I continued my education by earning a master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas State University. I started my teaching career in San Antonio Independent School District at Washington Elementary School before returning to North East Independent School District in 1998 where I taught at Windcrest Elementary. At Windcrest, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year in 1999. I moved into administration for ten years at Olmos Elementary. In 2011, I became a Wetmore Ranger and called that place my school home for three years. I am starting my seventh year here at The Ranch and cannot imagine being any place else!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My husband, Wesley, is a North East graduate and my system of support. I have son who is starting his second year of PhD work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the area of computer science, a daughter who works full-time at a movie theater, and a daughter serving our country in the U.S. Navy. I love learning, reading, yard work, boating, decorating, dinner with friends, traveling, entertaining, and being outdoors.

I dedicate my work in education to two very special teachers: My mother, Kasha Squires, who still teaches me to love others and to love learning and Josie Holcomb, my second grade teacher, who taught me that loving and encouraging the whole child (despite challenges) is a key to success.

My mission is to spread love wherever I go.

I am a phone call or email away. Please feel free to reach out to me at: or 210-407-7621.
