“I love that I was able to get back into this District.”

Cibolo Green Elementary School teacher Kacie Hrywnak loves her job.

She loves her classroom.

She loves her students.

And they love her in return.

If you are lucky enough to spend just a few minutes in her first-grade classroom, you’ll quickly notice it is filled with love, colorful decorations, laughter and dance moves.

“I love dancing and just chatting with the kids,” said Hrywnak. “We do lots of little brain breaks, and I love seeing their little personalities come out.”

She loves first grade because students at that age tend to absolutely love their teachers. There is so much ground to cover between kindergarten and first grade, and that is what Hrywnak lives for. Their “Aha!” moments are captivating. Their discovery of learning and finally getting a big, new concept is exciting and rewarding.

“When they are amazed by something we did or an investigation we did. They make it fun, and I want to make it fun. When you have that one kid that wants to make you happy because they did something they are proud of and they want you to share in that joy with them. That’s why I do this.”

Kacie found her passion for teaching in North East ISD classrooms. Her mother worked for NEISD. She was part of the first kindergarten class at Encino Park Elementary School. She also attended Coker Elementary School, Bradley Middle School and Churchill High School. She was part of the first sophomore class at Reagan High School and graduated from there in 2002.

“Since I grew up in this District, I know the caliber of teachers here and it’s a great district to work in. Being a product of this District, this all just means more. I am very honored to have a position here.”

This is Hrywnak’s 14th year at Cibolo Green, and her NEISD roots continue to grow. Her children now attend NEISD schools, and she’s seeing children she taught in her first years graduate and follow their passions -- passions that began to grow in her classroom.

“I just love it here, and I am so excited to see what this year brings.”
