Starting the day in an excellent way

Students at Thousand Oaks got quite the surprise.

When they saw their breakfast, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

The cafeteria team dressed up like Thing 1 and Thing 2

There was a cat in a hat and a very pink Cindy Loo Who.

They were celebrating a birthday in a very fun way.

With green eggs and ham to start their day.

The Cafeteria team dressed up

The school nutrition team at Thousand Oaks Elementary School went all out for Dr. Seuss’ birthday today. Every member of the team dressed up as a Dr. Seuss character. They also had a little fun with the menu, making green eggs and ham sandwiches for breakfast. It’s one of Cafeteria Manager Jessica Loera’s favorite days.

“I love seeing every child when they come through the line. I love dressing up for them because I know that will make their day,” said Loera. “It’s great seeing their smiles and knowing that after they have breakfast, they are going to have a great day.”

The team at Thousand Oaks serves close to 300 nutritious breakfasts a day.

Districtwide, North East ISD Nutrition Services teams serve 13,000 breakfasts and around 40,000 lunches a day.

NEISD’s School Nutrition Team is looking for a few good characters.
