I am beyond excited to be your assistant principal at Northern Hills Elementary School! I am a proud product of this amazing school district. I attended Stahl Elementary School, Driscoll Middle School, and James Madison High School. After graduating high school, I joined the United States Army as a Chemical Operation Specialist at Fort Hood, Texas. While there, I deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
I have an amazing daughter, Milanna, who is now an 11th grader at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. She is in theater and can tell you the history of both Marvel and DC Comics. I also have a rambunctious son, Tucker, who is six years old. He is a huge Transformer fan, and will do anything for ice cream. Tucker is also a proud Bronco at Northern Hills Elementary! When I am not at school, you will definitely find me with my family, or cheering on the Spurs! I am a huge “silver and black” fan, and have been known to lose my voice after a well-fought playoff game.
I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education through 6th grade, and graduated with my master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I also have a supplemental certification of teaching students who are English Language Learners. I have previously taught 3rd and 4th grades at Tuscany Heights Elementary School in NEISD.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to apart of the Northern Hills family! It is my goal for students to push themselves to achieve their maximum potential, and for our school community to help foster a lifelong love of learning and determination for all of our children. It is going to be a fantastic year!
