Johnson Current Issues & Events Team makes history

The Johnson High School 2017-2018 Current Issues and Events team placed first in the State Meet for UIL Academics for the 6A Conference.  Coach Justin Felux and the team of Nitesh Kartha (Fourth Place), Tyler Pierson (Sixth Place), Adeola Dosumnu, and Justin Wiley worked hard to best every other 6A school in the state of Texas. 

This contest focuses on the current state, national and world events and issues.  The students demonstrate their knowledge through a test and essay that ensures the competitor is able to synthesize and evaluate information and present it in an informed manner. The big win marks the first time in the history of North East ISD for UIL Academics.
