Lee recognizes outstanding JROTC Cadet
It is with great esteem, that Lee High School recognizes an outstanding JROTC cadet. Congratulations to cadet LTC Ysabelle Katigback for maintaining a one hundred percent average while managing her responsibilities as the battalion commander. This impressive achievement has granted her the opportunity to attend Duquesne University School of Nursing with a scholarship.
“I am humbled to be receiving an annual $21,000 scholarship from the school, and I am still waiting for more scholarships to get back to me,” said LTC Katigback. “Even if I couldn’t exactly leave a mark on the world, I would at least want to leave an impact on someone’s life. That is why I want to pursue a career as a nurse. I’m beyond excited to start my journey and hopefully achieve my goal to be a Nurse Practitioner. Go Dukes!”
Balancing academics with any extracurricular activity is no easy feat and students that accomplish this goal leave high school well-prepared for the next step in their journey to a career.
JROTC Instructor Hector Reyes, 1SGT(R) congratulates Katigback.
Katigback is already looking forward to her first day of class at the Duquesne University School of Nursing.
