Roosevelt proud of JASSA and Japanese Calligraphy winner

Japan-American Society of San Antonio (JASSA) invited high school students in the San Antonio area to travel to Japan and go to the sister city Kumamoto for about one week.  Students will stay with host families, visit a Japanese high school, and much more. The program will arrange and cover the entire cost of the trip.

Out of 46 applicants from several different schools, Michael Morse was one out of the six students that were chosen to represent San Antonio and Roosevelt High school on this complementary trip to Japan.

Michelle Vo won third place in San Antonio’s Inaugural Japanese Calligraphy Contest sponsored by UTSA’s East Asia Institute and Japan Outreach Initiatives Program.

It shows again that Roosevelt produces quality students that can compete with the best.
