Cibolo Green Elementary School hosted a Leader in Me Family Night on Feb. 15. Guest speaker, Oteka Gibson, served as guest speaker. The senior director of leadership development discussed the importance of social emotional learning within schools as well as at home. The program also welcomed Kristi Miller, a motivational speaker that has expertise in creating vision boards. She demonstrated how using these vision boards can strengthen the sense of self and family bonds.
Students, families, and faculty created vision boards and used the iPad app, ChatterPix, to develop mission statements. North East ISD’s Junior Lighthouse committee students spoke at the event, and the Peace Leaders group were present to greet all families that attended. It was a fantastic learning experience for students and their parent/guardians alike.
