NEISD supports another successful Angel Tree

Each year, North East ISD campuses are chosen and families in need are selected to participate in the Angel Tree Project. Central office employees are asked to sponsor the gifts, and this year marks 10 years that they generously supported the project.

The official kick off of Angel Tree is the Thanksgiving holiday. This year, Thanksgiving meals and large care packages were distributed to each family prior to the week-long break. Christmas follows with gifts for all of the children in each family.

On Dec. 16, 2017, Santa delivered the items along with several dedicated volunteers. The children were incredibly excited to see everyone bring such joy to their homes.

“It was, and always is, a very special experience,” said Peggy Turner, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent. “Thanks to the kindness of all who participated, bought and shopped for children that are not their own, the NEISD family made a difference in the lives of others.  The 2017 Angel Tree was a huge success!”
