Windcrest Optimist Club celebrates future leaders
The Windcrest Optimist Club held its monthly meeting in October to honor the future leaders of our community as part of its Student of the Month program. The program focuses on students in the Roosevelt High School cluster schools. These students earn this selection by demonstrating characteristics such as: dependability, excelling at reading, positive attitudes, willingness to help others, kindheartedness, and demonstrating responsibility. A school representative introduces the students and their families, in addition to highlighting the student’s achievements.
John Merrill, Montgomery Elementary Assistant Principal, and the 1st Vice President of the Windcrest Optimist Club, presented the rewards to each student selected as their school’s Student of the Month. Laura Le of Windcrest Elementary School and Celeste M. Guzman of Ed White Middle School was unable to attend the meeting and will receive their awards at school.
