NEISD certified to road test by Texas DPS

third party skills Earlier this month, North East ISD became a Texas DPS certified third party road test administrator. The District earned this designation by sending two of its Transportation Department trainers, Bonnie Ramos and Phil Purvis, to a 40-hour state course in Austin followed by several weeks of field evaluations of their skills. One of the department’s evaluators attended a second weeklong follow-on training course, earning a certification to administer the initial course, as a Road Test Examiner.

“Our Training Administrator was selected to be the designated responsible person to coordinate/schedule all third party road tests,” said Executive Director of Transportation Jack DeForrest. “Our newly trained drivers will now road test from our site instead of a trainer having to take them to the DPS and spend 2 - 3 hours in line before taking the test administered by a DPS employee.”

This change will streamline the driving process for NEISD, ensuring that drivers are well prepared and ready to deliver the future.
