Olmos student shines in back-to-school campaign
Be on the lookout for Mattie Taylor.
The Olmos Elementary School first-grader seems to be everywhere these days, including billboards.
H-E-B chose Mattie to be the face of their “Back to School” campaign. Now her infectious smile is on mailers, billboards and signage in stores.
“She is very excited to start the first grade,” said her mom, Angela Rickard-Taylor.
Angela explained how Mattie auditioned for other commercials and ads in the past. Then recently, one of the casting directors remembered Mattie and asked her to come in for the “Back to School” campaign.
Mattie isn’t only a budding commercial talent; she’s part of Olmos’ dual language.
“Not only is Mattie learning a different language, but the fact that she comes home and tries to teach me allows me to witness the sense of pride and confidence that is building within her. She loves to remind us how much smarter she is than us because she can speak Spanish!”
Thanks for representing NEISD so well, Mattie!
