NEISD’s Tyler Shoesmith helping homeless students across San Antonio

Headshot photo of Tyler Shoesmith Congratulations to Tyler Shoesmith, North East ISD’s Senior Director of Student Leadership and Well-Being. The District partners with the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH) and more than 140 other agencies to ensure support for our homeless students and families.

Shoesmith was recently elected to fill the Continuum of Care’s (CoC) School District Seat on the Board of Directors. This honor means he’ll represent all school entities in Bexar County.

“I have had the privilege of being the homeless liaison for my school district for over a decade and I have served as the Chair of the Youth Homeless Working Group for the past three years,” said Shoesmith. “Having worked in education for the past 20 years in the areas of dropouts, school-age parenting, homelessness, trauma-informed care, behavior, student/adult mental health, and a myriad of other areas - I hope to bring this background to the board as a means to leverage our assets in supporting homeless youth and adults.”

NEISD is proud to partner with SARAH and its Youth Homeless Demonstration Program. Click here to learn more about SARAH.
