MacArthur students give new mothers a head start

MacUP students in the Family Community Service class paid it forward by collecting Baby Blessing Bags for A Woman's Haven of San Antonio and the North East ISD School-Age Parenting Program. MacArthur High School students collected and donated diapers, bottles, clothes and more from students, staff and community members.

"The act of giving back to the community naturally ties with the service-oriented heart of a teacher," said MacUP instructor Tammile Goodman. "The program opens their eyes to the needs of the community while offering opportunities for the students to take action."

MacUP is the District’s magnet program for students interested in a career in education. Current students Gabby Sosa, Jenna Rivera and Mary Manzo organized the project. Thank you for showing how #NEISDcares!
