NEISD artists among Scholastic Award winners

Original art from students across North East ISD is among the best in the nation. More than 1,600 entries were submitted in the 2020-2021 regional Scholastic Art Competition. NEISD students claimed 347 of the 615 awards handed out at the contest. Seventy-one earned the top Gold Key award, which means they will advance to the national competition in New York.

The regional Scholastic Art contest also nominates five artworks for the American Vision Nominee Award. NEISD artists earned four of the five awards.

Congratulations to our American Vision Nominees:

  • Arianna Rosales of International School of the Americas (ISA)
  • Nicholas Kaenhar of MacArthur High School
  • Rosie Ganske of Reagan High School
  • Gia Son of Reagan High School

The Scholastic Art Awards recognizes the exceptional vision of the nation's youth by providing opportunities for middle and high school students in grades 7-12 to be honored for their talents. Each year, creative teens submit their artwork and become a part of a community of young artists who support and encourage the creative arts.

Congratulations to our art teachers and students for their outstanding accomplishments!
