Johnson and Reagan students recognized for state achievements

Johnson High School’s marching band was recognized at January’s Board of Trustees meeting for winning its first UIL 6A State Marching Band Championship. The title for their winning performance was “Know Who You Are”. They beat out 20 other bands in the 6A competition.

President Shannon Grona told the students, “It was an amazing performance. You could not have done any better, we are so incredibly proud of you.”

Reagan High School’s volleyball program was also recognized at the first board meeting of the year for fighting to the finish in the state semi-finals. They took Seven Lakes to five sets in the fight for a state berth. Reagan had a 21-4 overall record this season.

President Shannon Grona got emotional recalling the end of the season, “Dr. Maika and I traveled to Katy to watch you play. Just the determination. To watch you lose those first two sets and then come back and battle so hard, I was just so incredibly proud.”
