January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to celebrate the dedicated board members who play a vital role at North East ISD. The Board of Trustees is made up of seven elected leaders who establish policies for operating the District and ensuring its financial viability. They also employ the superintendent, approve the budget and monitor expenditures, set the tax rate or call for a bond or tax rate election.
NEISD is fortunate to have a group of committed leaders working hard to make our schools the best they can be.
"I am honored to work alongside our Board of Trustees," said Dr. Sean Maika, Superintendent of Schools. "Each member gives countless hours each month to serve their community and all of NEISD. Their leadership allows NEISD to continuously innovate and serve the students, parents and employees of our District."
