Krueger PALS lead through acts of service

Krueger PALS lead through acts of service

Service to others is the heart of North East ISD's Peer Assistance Leadership and Service (PALS) program. PALS at Krueger Middle School are embracing that mindset by giving back to others this holiday season. Tracy Thomas has sponsored the PALS program at Krueger for three years and loves watching them implement their own unique ways to serve their campus and community.

"It makes my heart happy to see them give selflessly of their time and energy to make someone's day," said Thomas. "I hope they keep yearning for the feeling of joy inside every time they help someone."

Krueger PALS have been busy volunteering at sporting events, guiding runners at the Dia de Los Muertos 5K event on campus and writing letters to veterans at VFW Post 8541. Students are also making turkey hands with thankful messages that will be placed on the windows of a nearby community adult center.

"They come up with these unique ideas and then create them," said Thomas. "I am just the "feet" of the program that helps deliver their thoughtful messages and decorations. I hope they always find a way to be part of the solution and not the problem."

Thank you, Krueger PALS, for showing how #NEISDcares.
