LEE students thank Jackson-Keller cafeteria staff
North East ISD’s dedicated cafeteria staff has been working tirelessly to provide close to two-million meals to students in need. Their commitment to doing this with a smile has not gone unnoticed, in fact, it has inspired many. LEE High School students Alyssa Bravo, Jordyn Braxton and Taylor Braxton wanted to find a way to thank them for their service, so they decided to make goodie bags for the cafeteria staff at Jackson-Keller Elementary School.
Bravo is a member of LEE’s Peer Assistance Leadership and Service (PALS) program and often volunteered at Jackson-Keller.
“As a PAL, we visited Jackson-Keller every Tuesday and I grew fond of the staff,” said Bravo. “No deed, no matter how simple it may seem, should go unnoticed. This is why I wanted to make sure that the staff at Jackson-Keller knew that their service was greatly appreciated!”
Jackson-Keller is one of many NEISD feeding sites that’s playing a crucial role in serving hundreds of thousands of meals since campuses closed on March 16. Rain or shine, the District’s School Nutrition Services team has been a constant in a time of change and uncertainty while showing how #NEISDcares.
