Announcement: Changes to AP Testing

The College Board will be administering AP exams online at home this year. The testing window is May 11th-22nd.  In order for your child to maximize his/her success and have the potential for earning college credit for an AP course, please review the following information:

  • College Board will be communicating with your child using the email your child entered in his/her College Board account during AP exam registration. Your student should verify that the email is correct on his/her account prior to the exam date in order to receive exam notifications.
  • It is important students know how to log in to their College Board account. If your child has tried to reset the password and is still having login difficulties, please have him/her call AP Services at 888-225-5427.
  • Please check that your student is following the class syllabus and is accessing the online class and review sessions on AP’s YouTube Live, https://www.youtube.com/user/advancedplacement, which will help them prepare for the exams.
  • Your child will have 45 minutes to take the exam. The shortened exam format and questions are designed specifically for an at-home administration so points cannot be earned from content found in textbooks or online. College Board will be using a wide range of digital security tools and techniques, including plagiarism detection software and post-administration analytics to protect the integrity of the exam.
  • Please provide a quiet place for your student to take his/her AP exam(s) and ensure that your student plans to take his/her exam(s) on the primary exam dates in May, listed on the website below. (By students taking the exam on the recommended primary exam date, this ensures that if students have technical difficulties, they still have another opportunity to gain approval to take the make-up exam in June. If they wait until June, there is no second chance to take the exam if they have technical difficulties.)
  • Seniors should log into their College Board account and designate the college/university to have their scores sent free of charge.
  • Communicate with your student’s AP teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
