NEISD to launch Counselor Support Lines

North East ISD knows that mental health is especially important during times of uncertainty. Even though schools are closed, NEISD wants to continue assisting students and their families.

Beginning Monday, March 23, the District will have phone lines available for counseling questions or concerns. Counselors will work on a rotating basis to answer the support lines weekdays from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

“We are committed to providing a direct line of support to our students during this difficult time,” said Dr. Maika, Superintendent of Schools. “Our counselors are only a phone call away through our support line and will be a constant support to our NEISD family regardless of the circumstances. The mental health of our students, teachers and staff remains a top priority.”

Counselors are also available for student needs via email, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Google Classroom, Smore, etc. Elementary and middle school students can contact the hotline for their individual high school.

NEISD also realizes that staff may need extra support during this time. Deer Oaks is available at 1-866-327-2400.

A phone line will be set up at each NEISD High School. Visit neisd.net/criticalupdates for the latest information.
