Roosevelt’s San Juan Guard takes its talent to the Alamodome

Cadets in the Roosevelt High School JROTC program are used to performing at venues across the nation. The San Juan Guard armed drill team had home-field advantage when they performed for fans before the UTSA Roadrunners took the field to play the U.S. Army Black Knights at the Alamodome.

Roosevelt was one of just five high school armed drill teams invited to perform before the game.

“It was a successful demonstration that showcased the abilities of the San Juan Guard drill team to the people that attended the event and the veterans that were there as well,” said cadet Jukari Bolden. “I think we especially showcased our pride for the U.S. armed forces with our performance.”

The San Juan Guard trains daily to compete in categories like regulation, exhibition, color guard and inspection.
