Madison food pantry receives generous donation

The food pantry at Madison High School is starting the school year with a significant donation. Counselor Cynthia Suarez and students and sponsors of the Madison Interact Club joined forces to create and run the food pantry that benefits students and families in the Madison community. One of their responsibilities is collecting resources and updating inventory.

That process just got a little easier, thanks to a $1,000 donation from the San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club. Interact Club student members and sponsor Janeen Downen will use the funds to purchase supplies for the food pantry.

The program accepts food pantry item donations, such as cereal, peanut butter, canned goods, granola bars, and pasta. If you would like to learn more about the Madison food pantry, click here to contact Family Specialist Veronica Villegas.

“Thank you to the San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club for their generous donation, and the Madison staff, students, community partners, PTSA and Principal Steve Zimmerman who do so much to support the food pantry,” said Villegas.
