PALS making a difference at IKE

The PALS program at Eisenhower Middle School is a peer mentoring program that gives students a platform to help their school and their community. Students in this program choose to spend their time helping others and building relationships with all students. Each PAL has a goal to make everyone feel like they belong.

“Middle School can be a scary place,” says Ms. Leyva, the PALS sponsor. "This great program gives students a platform to help their peers and their community.”

This year Ms. Leyva's PALS class has teamed up with Mrs. Dale's English Language Learners to assist them with conversational skills and reading skills necessary for them to be successful in the classroom.

“I enjoy sponsoring the PALS group because these students have such big hearts and truly want to make their school and community better,” said Ms. Leyva.
