Roosevelt's red, white and blue parade

The Theodore Roosevelt High School Rough Rider Battalion joined in the Red, White & Blue celebration held for the extracurricular clubs and organizations at Roosevelt on Wednesday, Aug 21. Over 20 clubs and/or organizations marched along the football field to show their school pride and spirit in being part of such an amazing school and community.

“I had a lot of fun,” said Cadet Private Shandra LevyI. “I was a part of many different parts of the parade. It was fun to see what it’s like to be a part of the battalion.”

Shandra joined JROTC to be a part of something where she could connect with other people that might have similar interests. For many cadets, it’s their first time seeing the Battalion form up as a whole and observe the way the JROTC program contributes to the football season and keeping the Rough Rider spirit alive.

“I feel like the parade is a good way to show off our various school organizations.” said Cadet Major Nolan Bodmann, “I know that this year will be an improvement on last year just like every other year. But most importantly I know that our year will amount to us winning the Superintendent Trophy.”
