New teachers DISCOVER North East ISD

Incoming Tex Hill Middle School teacher Caroline Jackson may be new to North East ISD, but she's no stranger to the education field. A fresh start at Tex Hill is just what the 19-year veteran teacher and her husband were looking for.

“I am so excited to be here,” said Jackson. “I feel rejuvenated, and it's nice to feel excited.  After being in education for so long, it’s easy to get in a rut. I’m just excited to be starting over at NEISD.”

The month of August means new beginnings for the NEISD teachers and staff who are joining new campuses. But before the first school bell rings on August 19, the new hires must attend New Teacher Orientation. Jackson is one of approximately 300 new NEISD teachers who are taking part in a week-long orientation at Johnson High School. This group of educators is comprised of first-year teachers, as well as teachers who are returning to the profession or have worked outside of the District.

The three-day professional development is designed to share the culture and expectations of North East ISD, as well as offer resources to help new teachers succeed throughout the school year. Many of them will be taking part in the District's First Year Teaching Academy. Click here to learn more about the program https://www.neisd.net/Page/23442
