ACE graduates receive their diplomas

The Class of 2019 at North East ISD’s Academy of Creative Education (ACE) is ready for the future. Ninety graduates walked the stage on Thursday, June 13, to accept their high school diploma during the summer graduation ceremony at the MacArthur Park Church of Christ.

Nastasha Vallejo was one of those graduates. She says the teachers and staff that made up her support system at ACE helped make this moment possible.

“ACE gave me a second chance to be able to finish school on time,” said Vallejo. “Without it, I wouldn’t be graduating today. The teachers give you every opportunity they can and all the resources are there for you to succeed. You just have to be able to work for it.”

The ACE graduation ceremony is a time of celebration and a testament to the students who have overcome numerous challenges to obtain their high school diploma. ACE graduates Colby Brooks and Siana Vasquez-Rios served as Masters of Ceremony. Moving student testimonials were presented in a readers’ theater format throughout the ceremony. Harvey Najim of the Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation gave the commencement address in front of the proud graduates, family, friends and NEISD faculty.

Congratulations to the ACE Class of 2019!
