NEISD students win big at state technology conference

Twenty-nine students represented North East ISD at the 2019 state Technology Student Association (TSA) Competition in Fort Worth. The group consisted of Engineering and Technologies Academy (ETA) and Design and Technology Academy (DATA) students from Roosevelt High School. They submitted 178 different projects to the competition. Not including team awards, the students picked up 14 1st place awards, 14 2nd place awards, nine 3rd place awards, and 19 finalist pins.

The NEISD team finished in 3rd place overall, which was high enough to advance to the TSA National Conference in National Harbor, Maryland June 27 - July 2. Students will compete in categories like Computer Intergraded Manufacturing, Music Production, Cybersecurity, Engineering Transportation Modeling and more.

Congratulations to Julian Wearden, who received a Texas TSA Scholarship for $1,500!
