Johnson cadet competes at Olympic Training Center

Johnson High School JROTC cadet Isabella Rios put her air rifle skills to the test at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. For three days Rios competed against 200 of the top shooters in the country at the National Junior Olympic Championships. Rios took part in a 60-shot standing match, which involves 90 minutes of trying to hit a dot the size of a pinhead on a target.

Rios shot a combined score of 1195.1 and finished 131st out of 202 competitors. She is part of the Johnson Jaguar JROTC Precision Team and helped lead her teammates to the Bexar County JROTC Championship Cup. The team also finished 7th overall in the Western Regional Championships, earning them a spot at nationals this summer on Ohio.
