LEE honors Summa Cum Laude students

Every year, the North East ISD family comes together to honor its Summa Cum Laude graduates at each of its high schools. These seniors have worked tirelessly to maintain their outstanding academic performance. The Summa Cum Laude Celebration is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the students and the educators that inspired them along the way. The Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) honored its 115 Summa Cum Laude at the LEE High School campus on April 18.

As part of the ceremony, each Summa selects one educator who has most inspired them to excel and invites him or her to attend the celebration. The student then reads a short tribute to that individual in front of an audience of students, teachers, administrators, family members and friends.

“I congratulate all of our summa graduates,” said Nicole Franco, LEE Principal. “I also thank our educators being honored tonight. ”

Special guests in attendance at the ceremony included North East ISD Board of Trustees Secretary Sandy Hughey, Superintendent of Schools Brian G. Gottardy and Associate Superintendent of Business Services/ CFO Dan Villarreal.

“Your educational foundation is set for greater things to happen in the future,” said Gottardy, as he addressed the students. “We are very proud of your accomplishments and we wish you nothing but the best as you move on to bigger and better things next year. I encourage you to come back to tell us how well we have prepared you for the future.”

LEE will hold its commencement ceremony for all graduates on June 9, 2019.
