MacArthur a cappella group advances to Nationals

MacArthur High School’s a cappella group “PFC” earned 1st place in the semi-final round of the Southwest Region of the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) competition. MacArthur students competed against groups from Texas, Colorado, and Utah at Marcus High School on March 9. PFC earned a score of 433, which is only 32 points from a perfect 465, and took home the award for “Outstanding Choreography.”

This was the second round of the competition circuit for ICHSA. Winning 1st place at this event means PFC is one of 10 groups who will perform in the ICHSA Finals in April. The finals are held at the Town Hall Theater on Broadway in New York. This is the 4th time PFC has made it to the finals, making them one of only four groups in the history of the competition to do so.

PFC is under the direction of Matthew Woodward and Anna Gann. The group will perform their winning set at the MacArthur Choir Concert on Thursday, March 21, at 7:00 pm in the MacArthur High School Auditorium.
