Author and illustrator visits with Colonial Hills students

Students at Colonial Hills Elementary School wore wigs on Monday, March 4, in honor of a very special guest. Author and illustrator Emma Virjan stopped by to discuss her beloved book series, “The Pig in a Wig.” Virjan shared with students how her love of writing and drawing started at a young age. She talked about how she first came up with the idea for the series, and also showed the students how she created her characters by first drawing out shapes.
