Roosevelt JROTC Rifle Team earns District streamer
The Roosevelt High School JROTC Rifle Team earned a North East ISD streamer to proudly display on their battalion flag. Dr. Sean Maika, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Campus Administration, and Colonel Robert Henson, Director of Army Instruction, presented the cadets with their 1st place District champion streamer during a ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
“Our team is super close and we do our best when we’re together,” said cadet Rachel Miranda. “I wouldn’t trade those long hours we spent practicing together for the world. I’m so proud of our score."
The ceremony included Delta company in formation, the color guard presenting the flags and the placing of the streamer on the guidon. The Rifle Team returned from the Army Service Championship in Alabama on Feb. 16. The national competition resulted in personal bests for many cadets on the team.
