Kenyan storyteller visits Colonial Hills

A guest speaker visited Colonial Hills Elementary School on Friday, Feb. 1, in honor of Black History Month. Elizabeth Kahura, a native of Kenya, entertained staff and students with pictures from her homeland. She shared pictures of Kenyan school students, buildings and animals crossing the Serengeti, a region in Africa with diverse habitats and wildlife.

Kahura also entertained the crowd with a wonderful story featuring Anansi, the trickster African spider. She also taught students and staff two different dances to authentic African songs, which got everyone off their feet and moving.
